LensRove Privacy Policy

Scope: The LensRove iPhone app, widgets, Live Activities, and this independently hosted privacy-policy page.

This policy explains how LensRove processes information when providing track recording, photo processing, Health route import, maps, weather, purchases, and iCloud sync, and how you can control that information.

1. Core principles

LensRove is a local-first photography route tool. The current version does not require a LensRove account, display third-party advertising, track people across apps, or integrate third-party behavioral analytics or crash-reporting SDKs.

LensRove processes only information needed for the relevant feature. Location, Photos, Motion, and Health access is requested when a related feature needs it. You can change permissions, disable sync, delete records, and clear caches through iOS or LensRove settings.

2. Location access

After authorization, LensRove may process precise location, time, speed, heading, elevation, horizontal or vertical accuracy, and the resulting route points, distance, duration, and track files.

When In Use access supports current position, foreground recording, map following, photo matching, place names, and location-related weather features.

Location continues after locking the phone or switching apps only while you actively record and have granted Always access.

If access is denied, existing tracks, photos, and settings remain available, but new recording and current-location features are unavailable.

3. Photos access

With full or limited Photos access, LensRove may read permitted photo identifiers, album membership, thumbnails, capture time, existing location, pixel dimensions, file format, and available EXIF such as camera, lens, focal length, aperture, shutter speed, and ISO.

This supports selection, galleries, footprint maps, photography insights, clock calibration, and photo geotagging.

Only after you confirm the relevant action may LensRove use Apple Photos to create a geotagged copy, modify a selected photo's location, create an album, generate a poster, or request deletion of selected photos.

If access is denied, track recording remains available, but photo-related features do not.

4. Motion, elevation, and heading

With Motion & Fitness permission and supported hardware, LensRove may process activity states such as stationary, walking, running, cycling, or driving, together with pressure, relative altitude, device-motion, and heading results.

This information improves automatic recording decisions, location strategy, power use, elevation curves, and direction display.

If access is denied, basic recording remains available with reduced automatic assistance.

5. Apple Health data

Only when you initiate Health route import and grant permission does LensRove read authorized workouts, route coordinates, time, distance, and source identifiers needed to prevent duplicate imports.

The current implementation requests read access only and does not write to, modify, or delete original records in Apple Health. Health and fitness data is not used for advertising, marketing, cross-app tracking, or profiling.

After import, LensRove creates a local track copy. In the current version, if iCloud sync is enabled, the imported track may enter the private CloudKit database associated with your Apple ID under ordinary track-sync rules.

6. Information stored locally

LensRove may store track databases and files, photo indexes, thumbnails, EXIF insight results, camera clock-calibration profiles, map settings, offline maps, statistical caches, temporary import/export files, sync ledgers, entitlement status, and widget or Live Activity state in the app sandbox, App Group, or system cache directories.

Original photos remain managed by Apple Photos. Files selected from other locations remain managed by the applicable file location.

7. iCloud and CloudKit

LensRove iCloud sync is enabled by default and can be disabled under Settings — Data and Storage.

When enabled, track files, route points, time, elevation, track names, notes, distance, duration, source, camera clock-calibration profiles, deletion markers, generated device identifiers, update timestamps, and sync-maintenance information may be stored in a private LensRove CloudKit database associated with your Apple ID.

Original photos in Apple Photos, photo thumbnails, the full EXIF insight library, and Mapbox offline map packs are not synced as LensRove CloudKit content.

Disabling sync stops new automatic activity but does not automatically or immediately delete existing CloudKit content. Use the in-app clear-sync tool to delete relevant cloud content. Deletion and storage reclamation may be delayed.

8. Maps, search, and weather services

Online maps, place search, offline maps, weather, and environmental layers may send IP address, device language, visible map area, search terms, location or proximity, time range, and resource-request information to the applicable provider.

LensRove may use Apple Photos, HealthKit, CloudKit, WeatherKit, MapKit, geocoding, StoreKit, APNs, Mapbox, Open-Meteo, RainViewer, LibreWXR, Yr/NRK, WeatherAPI, and NASA GIBS.

9. Purchases and entitlements

To verify paid downloads, lifetime access, subscriptions, or restored purchases, LensRove may use StoreKit to read Apple-verified product identifiers, transaction status, purchase dates, original purchase date, and original app version, and cache entitlement status and the most recent check time locally.

Apple processes payments and full payment details. LensRove does not receive complete payment-card information.

Information is used only for track recording, maps, playback, photo matching, insights, Health route import, track and photo export, weather, offline maps, iCloud sync, purchase verification, cache maintenance, and reliable operation.

LensRove does not sell personal information, provide it to advertising networks, or use it for targeted advertising, cross-app tracking, credit decisions, or profiles unrelated to LensRove features.

Tracks, photos, posters, or files are transferred to another app, person, or service only when you initiate an export or share. Review coordinates, capture time, equipment details, and other sensitive metadata before sharing.

11. Retention and deletion

Local data generally remains until you delete it in the app, the system clears a cache, or you remove LensRove. Removing the app does not automatically delete content already saved to Apple Photos, Files, or CloudKit.

Photos saved to the system library are managed by Apple Photos and may remain in Recently Deleted after deletion.

CloudKit may retain deletion markers to prevent deleted content from reappearing from another device. The default is 30 days; supported settings may include 7, 30, 60, 180, or 365 days, or permanent retention. Cleanup and storage reclamation may be delayed.

External providers determine their own request-log retention periods.

12. Your permissions and controls

You can grant, restrict, or revoke Location, Photos, Motion, Health, notifications, cellular data, and background refresh through iOS Settings.

You can disable iCloud, clear synced data, delete tracks and camera calibration profiles, and clear caches and offline maps in LensRove.

You can manage related system content through Apple Photos, Files, and Health.

Revoking access does not undo completed exports, photo writes, location changes, historical provider requests, or automatically remove existing CloudKit content.

13. Security

LensRove uses platform protections including the iOS sandbox, system permissions, App Groups, Apple signing, HTTPS, and private CloudKit databases. No storage or transmission method can guarantee absolute security.

Apple, Mapbox, weather providers, page hosts, or email providers may process necessary service information outside your country or region. Processing locations and safeguards depend on each provider.

14. Children

LensRove is not designed specifically for children and does not create child profiles through a first-party account system. Minors should use it with appropriate guardian guidance and consent before enabling Location, Photos, Motion, Health, or cloud sync.

15. Independent privacy-policy page

This privacy-policy page is independently deployed and is not part of the LensRove website structure. Cloudflare Pages or its CDN may process IP address, request time, browser type, and requested path as standard network logs needed for delivery and security.

This page does not load advertising or behavioral analytics scripts and does not set advertising cookies.

16. Policy updates

We update this policy when LensRove features, permissions, sync scope, external providers, or applicable requirements change. Material changes will be communicated through the app or this independent policy page where practical.
